The village of Ackworth is situated in the west of Yorkshire and is steeped in history. The village dates back to around 500 AD when the first Saxons started to settle in that area. The town is divided into four parts today: High Ackworth, Low Ackworth, Ackworth Moortop and Brackenhill.
