Debra knew that she would have to do something about all of the extra stuff. There were things crammed into every room, furniture in the wrong places. Preparing for a baby had been stressful and now that she had the babys room ready, she finally got a good look around the rest of the house and realized it could not stay this way. She had pushed and pulled everything in her house to accommodate the babys room, but Debra and her husband Tyler both knew without a doubt that it would not work. They had to find a solution of what to do with all of the extra things lying about the house. Their house was small, so there was not the option of putting things in closets because they were already too full. They could not even think of storing them on shelves in the basement because the basement was a mere square of a room that was musty and damp, fitting only their water heater and furnace.
At first, Debra thought of some type of temporary place to store them, perhaps paying on a monthly basis until they figured out what to do with everything. Tyler immediately vetoed this plan, as he knew that they would get stuck with monthly payments and most likely no solution to their problem at all. Tyler had seen an ad in a magazine for a storage building . There was a kit, and you could order the unit to the size that you needed. In a one time payment that was the equivalent of what merely a few months usage of a temporary storage building would be, they would actually own their own storage building . Debra agreed that this was the most rational plan.
They bought the storage building at a local home and garden store and Tyler had a friend come and help him set it up. It took only a weekend to finish, as it had detailed instructions and illustrations to help out. Once it was set up and they had moved all of their extra belongings into it, they could not have been happier. Debra was much more comfortable with her possessions right in her back yard than she would have been with them across town somewhere where she could not easily have access to them.
Two years later, after Debra and Tyler had either sold or replaced most of the items in their unit, Debra found a new use for it. Her hobbies were gardening and crafts, both of which came with quite a few accessories. Now instead of propping her spade and rake against the side of the house after a day of gardening, she had a sturdy unit to put them in, away from weather which could eventually rust them. She also found room for the gardening hose, her pots, seeds and soil. Tyler made shelves along one half of the unit to accommodate for these things and she found it very convenient to be able to securely store all of these items within easy reach of her yard and home.
Debras crafting hobby was also taken care of with the unit. A table with shelves built above it took up the other half of the unit, allowing her to place various arrangements of baskets, silk flowers and many other knick knacks into it. She was satisfied that she had a place for these things without cluttering up the main part of her house with them. Getting the storage building had been worth every penny.
